Terms and Conditions
Any bookings or reservations made at Penally Abbey Hotel agree to the following terms and conditions.
Check-in and Check-out
Check-in is from 2pm and we request that guests check-out by 11am.
Booking Policy (Updated 28th September 2020)
All bookings made via our website, online travel agents or directly with the hotel will not be required to pay a deposit or make any pre-payments for their stay from 23rdApril 2020 until further notice.
This adjustment to our booking policy is to give guests as much flexibility as possible with their booking due to the uncertainty caused by Covid-19.
All bookings made will settle their total bill on check-out.
We require a valid credit card on booking to confirm any reservations.
We do not accept American Express or cheques (including travellers' cheques) under any circumstances.
If you cancel within 48 hours of your stay you will be charged the full cost of your stay.
If you cancel within 7 days of your stay you will be charged 50% of the total cost of your stay and we reserve the right to charge you the full cost of the stay if we are unable to re-sell the room. We strongly advise you to ensure that you have adequate travel insurance in place to cover any unforeseen cancellation.
If you cancel after 00:00:00 local time, 2 day(s) prior to arrival date, the forfeiture amount will be 100% from the total stay.
If you cancel after 00:00:00 local time, 7 day(s) prior to arrival date, the forfeiture amount will be 50% from the total stay.
Covid-19 Adjustments to our Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or amend your booking due to Covid-19 restrictions, we can transfer your booking to another suitable date. Please be aware that rates may differ for different dates e.g. peak season compared to off-peak.
Any amendments or cancellations that are not as a direct result of Covid-19 will still be charged the amount due in relation to the above cancellation policy.
If we are forced to close the hotel due to Covid-19 then all bookings may be transferred or cancelled at no extra charge.
Booking.com Cancellation Policy
The cancellation policy for bookings made via booking.com is slightly different to the cancellation policy for direct bookings stated above due to their own restrictions.
If you cancel within 7 days of your stay, 100% of your stay will be forfeited.
Large Group Bookings
For the comfort of all of our guests, we request that any groups (bookings of 3 or more rooms from the same party) that are coming to stay for a special occasion or celebration, make our team aware on booking.
During peak season (Easter – September 30th) and over any weekend throughout the year, we are unable to accept group bookings of more than 6 rooms. We reserve the right to cancel any room booking if we become aware that the booking is part of a group that already has 6 rooms booked on the same dates.
We do not tend to offer the hotel on an exclusive use basis apart from during off-peak season, from Sunday - Thursday and all room bookings are subject to availability.
Please note that we are unable to accept stag or hen parties to stay overnight at Penally Abbey.
For group bookings for 3 rooms of more we have a slightly different deposit and cancellation policy.
A deposit of 50% of the total stay will be taken for group bookings, even those taken direct over the phone.
If you cancel within 31 days of your stay you will be charged the full cost of your stay (100%).
We strongly advise you to ensure you have adequate travel insurance in place to cover any unforeseen cancellation.
Christmas 2020 Bookings
For all room bookings made for the 24th & 25th December 2020 our deposit and cancellation policy is as follows:
A deposit of 50% of your total stay will be charged on booking, even for bookings taken directly via the phone or in person.
If you cancel on or after 1st December 2020 you will forfeit your deposit if we are unable to resell the room. If you cancel within 7 days of your stay you will be charged the full cost of your stay. We strongly advise you to ensure you have adequate travel insurance in place to cover any unforeseen cancellation.
We reserve the right to charge the credit or debit card used on booking for any damages to the hotel or bedrooms. This also applies to any missing items from the rooms or hotel in general and includes the REN toiletries and umbrellas.
Please refer to our dog policy for the full terms and conditions when bringing your dog to Penally Abbey. We reserve the right to charge the credit or debit card used on booking for any damages caused by dogs staying at the hotel. Penally Abbey must be made aware on booking that you would like to bring your dog.
Please note that we are only able to accept ONE dog in any of our rooms.
The four Coach House bedrooms are the only rooms that welcome dogs at the hotel.
Keys are to be returned on check out. A charge of £30 will be charged to the credit or debit card used on booking in the case of any keys lost or not returned on check out. Should a key mistakenly be taken home and not returned within a week we shall reserve the right to charge for a new key. The charge covers the cost of the new key and lock change.
No Smoking Policy
Penally Abbey Hotel and Rhosyn Restaurnt are 100% smoking and vaping free. Smoking is not permitted in any part of the building. An assessed cleaning fee of £100 will be charged to any guests found smoking within the building.
For any items left in the bedrooms or at the hotel, we are more than happy to post them on subject to the cost of postage. Due to the high volume of lost property, we reserve the right to dispose of the item or pass it on to charity if it is unclaimed two weeks on from the check-out date.
Allergies and Intolerances
Should you suffer from any food allergies and intolerances please ensure you have made Penally Abbey aware on booking. Our kitchen will always try to accommodate nearly all requirements. We may ask for you to sign a form declaring your allergy when you arrive.
If you have a feather allergy, do let us know on booking so we can ensure that hypoallergenic bedding is used for your room.
The mobile phone signal varies on different networks. A good signal is not necessarily available in all parts of the building, particularly where there are thick stone walls.
All gift vouchers purchased for Penally Abbey & Rhosyn Restaurant are valid for 6 months from their date of issue and are non-refundable. They can be used for both Penally Abbey Hotel & Rhosyn Restaurant.
Penally Abbey Hotel has a private, free car park however we cannot guarantee that there will be a parking space for you on arrival. We ask all guests to please park sensibly to allow for other guests to park.
We have never had an instance of car theft in our car park but please be aware that you are solely responsible for your car and its contents.
There is free wifi throughout the hotel. We ask that guests use data responsibly so that all guests can benefit from it.
Please be aware that due to the remote location, and age of the listed building, that Wifi can sometimes drop out depending on the weather or other circumstances beyond our control.
Hotel offers and discounts
All hotel offers are subject to availability and have their own terms and conditions. All discounts and offers are applied at the discretion of the owners of Penally Abbey Hotel. Only one offer can be used on a single room booking. Penally Abbey Hotel reserves the right to adjust any offers of discounts to their rates at any given time.
Social Media Competitions or Giveaways
All social media competitions held by Penally Abbey and Rhosyn Restaurant on either social media channels, at its sole discretion and at any time, can be changed or modified and any such change shall be effective immediately upon posting to this webpage.
April 2020 | NHS and Keyworkers Giveaway
The nominee will be asked to show their NHS staff ID card or proof of their role upon check-in.
The chosen nominee will receive a one-night stay (for 2 guests only) dinner and breakfast. Dinner will include 3-courses, including two cocktails.
